The European Union is accelerating its transition to a circular economy through comprehensive legislation targeting the entire product lifecycle—from design and production to reuse and recycling. At the heart of this shift is the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR), which expands sustainability requirements to nearly all physical goods. This presentation will explore the latest developments in ESPR and related EU policies, including digital product passports, bans on destroying unsold goods, and sector-specific sustainability targets.
